Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) Scoping Report for the third Herefordshire Local Transport Plan (LTP3)

Herefordshire Council is asking local people and key stakeholders to help inform the development of Herefordshire's Transport Strategy for the next 15 years.   People will have the opportunity to tell us what their top priorities are and which transport improvements they feel are most needed.   We are particularly interested to know what residents feel about sustainable travel, using public transport and road safety.

The responses to this exercise will help inform the development of the Council's Local Transport Plan (LTP) Strategy Document 2011 to 2026.  The timing for the review of our Strategy also enables us to coordinate closely with proposals for the counties development over the same period.  We would like everyone responding to take into account the role that transport will need to play in helping supporting more housing, economic development but also helping to reduce environmental impact and climate change.

Consultation Summary

NameStrategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) Scoping Report for the third Herefordshire Local Transport Plan (LTP3)
DescriptionThe third Local Transport Plan (LTP3) is the document that will set out Herefordshire Council's approach to tackling the current problems and future challenges for the transport system in Herefordshire. Herefordshire Council is required to undertake a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) of the LTP. The SEA is undertaken in two stages. The output of the first stage is a Scoping Report which sets out information on other relevant plans and programmes that may interact with the LTP, the baseline data related to the state of the environment and the key environmental issues that must be considered further. The second stage of the process is the preparation of an Environmental Report which is carried out in tandem with the development of the LTP and published alongside it. Following the consultation period, the Scoping Report will be reviewed and revised as necessary. The outcome of this consultation will be reported in the Environmental Report.
