A review has been commissioned by Herefordshire Children's Trust to ensure that education, health and social care services that are currently available are meeting the needs of families and children in Herefordshire.
NHS Herefordshire and Herefordshire Council have a duty to regularly undertake reviews of services to ensure that they meet the needs of service users, demonstrate efficiency and value for money. The review will be undertaken to fully understand the support and care being provided to enable children with disabilities to live well and improve the service provision by enhancing equality and opportunity.
The review will provide an opportunity to share experiences, views and opinions which will influence the future development of the services and will be undertaken through various methods:
- A needs analysis will be produced of the children with disabilities population
- National and international reports and research will be used
- Field visits to the services will be undertaken between May to July 2010
- Questionnaires will be sent to families from June 2010
- Discussion mornings will be held with families in September 2010
- Initial stakeholder events will be held on the 16th and 24th June (Invitation, including venue and date)
The review will commence in May 2010 and report back to Herefordshire Children's Trust board in the Autumn. During this period there will be many opportunities for staff, stakeholders including families and carers to contribute to the review and to suggest developments or improvement s to the services
